Killing Innocence — Good touch and Bad touch

Monsters behind masks

As COVID19 virus changed lives of everyone, my 5Y son is going through online classes. It has now become my habit to listen to his classes alongside. The format is always, “Sing a Rhyme, Teach something, Sing a Rhyme, Wave a Goodbye”.

The fun part for kid is “Sing a Rhyme”, fun part for me is listening the way they try to teach remotely.

One of the Mondays has started with a topic “Good touch and Bad touch”. The teacher continued to talk and present about private parts, who shall and who shall-not see/touch, What to be done if somebody is touching private parts etc. The lessons continued for a full week leaving me amazed how this situation came.

Who is killing innocence, is it schools or hidden monsters among us?

Not so long ago, may be 2 decades ago, people would have laughed and even scolded teacher if this topic was in class for 5Y old kid. To be honest, I don’t think until teenage I never even had need to distinguish between “Good touch and Bad touch”.

The innocence of not knowing that bad exists is a gift for childhood. That gift is being robbed by all those monsters who are forcing kids to be equipped with knowledge that bad exists everywhere and in any form.

What are these monsters even made of? To see a woman in an infant, To see an object in fellow human, To hear soothing music in the cries of innocents.

The monsters among us are ensuring that innocence doesn’t has place in this world.
We the people need to ensure that monsters doesn’t have place in this world.

Oh God, Give me strength
To raise voice even when it has no echoes,
To do right thing even when no one is watching,
To fight monsters even when I’m the only one standing.
